If you are from the people of Asian region you may be familiar with the amazing spice that is commonly known as saffron. It contains lots of properties that are used in culinary, medicinal applications and also for your beautification methods. My other beautification site is https://womenbeauty.biz. Here I discuss the health and beautification purpose of saffron. If you are conscious about aesthetics then you are cordially invited to https://www.womenbeauty.biz
In the Asian region, saffron is mandatory for cooking delicious dishes such as polao, firni, dessert, etc. Saffron is very expensive because it is an extremely labor-intensive spice and we get just one pound of saffron from 75,000 saffron flowers. We get saffron that is derived from a flower named Crocus Sativus. Now saffron is grown in Iran, Greece, Turkey, Morocco, India. Saffron is used for cooking not only for its health benefits but also for nice fragrance, an amazing color that helps to soothe your guest’s eyes.
Be careful when you consume saffron. Because if you use lower qualities of saffron, you may not get your desired output from your delicious dishes.
How do you identify the good quality of saffron?
Because of its expensive character, saffron may adulterate with fake substances. Distributors may mix coconut filaments or corn silk threads. Here I will share some tips that how you easily identify pure saffron:
Taste: many people say that the taste of saffron is sweet. Though the smell of saffron is sweet, the taste of saffron is slightly bitter.
Prove with baking soda: Experts suggest that you will mix some saffron strands and baking soda. Add some water. If it turns as fast as yellow, you get the real.
Flavor: Good quality and pure saffron contains strong fragrance, never musty. Dried saffron strands are always just red in color.
Perfect time to add saffron in your cooking time:
We use saffron for culinary purposes mainly to get the amazing fragrance. So you should apply saffron 5 minutes before you turn off the burner.
If you use saffron to get the beautiful color, then soak some saffron strands with some milk or rose water for half an hour. Then add it to your dishes.
How to store saffron
Always buy the threads of saffron, not buy the ground saffron. You must store it in a glass container, not in any plastic container. Keep it in a cool and dark place.
Keep in mind that saffron does not expire, but it contains shelf life. It may lose a strong fragrance like other spices. So you should always consume fresh and good quality saffron. Try to consume it as soon as possible
