When I served chicken vegetable stew to my niece, her mother was surprised to observe its formulation. She asked why I used lots of vegetables and chicken there. She also laughed and said that it does not contain enough liquid. Hahaha, then I have assured her that it is not a soup. It is chicken vegetable stew. Yes, some people confuse the difference between soup and stew. Eventually the difference between stew and soup is the amount of the liquid it contains. Today I will share with you the chicken vegetable stew. It is not only healthy food for your body but also delicious.

Ingredients:

  • Shredded Chicken: 2 cups

  • Cauliflower(cube or Julian cut): 2 cups

  • Green peas: 1 cup

  • Broccoli: 1 cup

  • Papaya(cube or Julian cut): 1 cup

  • Mushroom slice: 1 cup

  • Garlic slice: 3 tablespoons

  • Salt: as required

  • Butter: 250 gram

  • Green chili: 5 pieces

  • Black pepper powder: 1 tablespoon

  • White vinegar: 1 tablespoon

  • Sugar(optional): ½ teaspoon

  • Rock salt: ½ teaspoon

  • Cornflower: 3 tablespoon

  • Water: 10 cups

You can use any type of vegetables that you like.

How to cook:

  • First, wash the vegetables and mushrooms, then cut these into your favorite size. It may be a cube or Julian cut.

  • Take the boneless chicken, wash it and boil until it becomes soft. Be sure the water you use for boiling should become dry.

  • Take a large pan or cauldron. Pour the butter or oil. I personally prefer butter because it spreads a nice fragrance.

  • When the butter becomes hot, pour the garlic slice and stir it for 2 minutes.

  • Now pour the vegetables(without broccoli and green peas, because you may not have the perfect color if you boil these too much).

  • Boil the vegetables for 15 minutes.

  • Now you add the white vinegar, salt, black pepper powder, and sugar.

  • Mix the corn flour with a little bit of water at room temperature. Then mix with the stew and stir it. Now you add the green peas and broccoli. Stir it for 3 more minutes. If you need to add some salt or green chili.

  • Pour the boiling chicken, stir for 2 minutes. Your stew is ready to serve.

Food value:

Because of using lots of vegetables and chicken, it is not only delicious but also enriched with fiber. By consuming various kinds of vegetables, you will get vitamins, calcium, iron. By consuming chicken you also get enough protein.

Cooking time: 22 minutes (approximately)

Though soup and stew both are being served for a similar purpose, soup is served as a starter. On the other hand, the stew is served alone as a starter, or you may serve it with white rice or bread. When you serve it with rice or bread, you can serve it as a full meal at your dinner.
