In my childhood, my mother felt pretty conscious about my diet. Because at that time, I usually ate foods that contain lots of fat with zero or low nutrition, such as various types of colorful junk foods and desserts. So my mother cooked herself colorful recipes that not only looked amazing but were also healthier. Today I will share with you one of the mouth-watering and quick recipes called carrot delight. So friends, who are especially known as sweet teeth, try this.

Ingredients:

  • Grated carrots: 4 cups

  • Sugar: 4 cups (if you are a sweet lover, then can add more sugar)

  • Butter/ghee: 4 tablespoons

  • Liquid milk: 4 cups

  • Water: 3 cups

  • Cardamom powder: ½ teaspoon

  • For garnish: you can garnish it with varieties of nuts, dried fruits, raisins, etc.

Method of cooking:

  • Take a pan and turn your burner to a medium flame. Pour the grated carrots, milk, and water. Cover it and cook until the carrot becomes smooth.

  • Then add sugar, ghee, or butter. Continue to stir it until the texture becomes tender and most of the moisture becomes evaporated.

  • In this step add cardamom powder, and stir it.

  • When finally the carrot turns to thicken and spreads a nice aroma, then your meal is ready.

How to serve: You can serve it at both hot and cool temperatures. You can store it for 2 weeks in the refrigerator.

Health benefits: Carrot contains lots of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. It can help to support cholesterol balance. When you add the milk, ghee or butter, and cardamom, then it is rich in heavy nutritious.

This mouth-watering delight can spread the fragrance of cardamom and ghee or butter. Dear, I am from Bangladesh and it is a traditional dessert in Bangladesh. In the local area, it is called “Gajor er halwa”. Carrot is known as Gajor in Bangla.
